NoPhones

How can we help?

Check out these frequently asked questions below

How does NoPhones work?

NoPhones uses Apple's Screen Time APIs to block apps you choose. When you try to open a blocked app, you'll encounter intentional friction designed to make you pause. A chance to ask yourself if you really need that app right now.

Why use friction instead of just blocking?

Pure blocking often leads to frustration and workarounds. Intentional friction is different. It creates a moment of pause, significant enough to make you reconsider, but not so rigid that you feel trapped. It's about building awareness, not punishment.

Is there a free option?

Yes! You can enable "Hard Mode" which blocks apps without any unlock option. This is completely free and perfect for those who want maximum commitment to their digital wellbeing goals.

What data does NoPhones collect?

None. NoPhones is privacy-first by design. There are no accounts, no analytics, no servers collecting your data. Everything stays on your device. We literally can't see what apps you're blocking or your usage patterns.

Does NoPhones work offline?

Yes! Since all data is stored locally on your device, NoPhones works completely offline. No internet connection required.

How do streaks work?

Your streak counts consecutive days without giving in to temptation. Every day you stay focused builds your streak. You can share your streak progress to Instagram Stories to celebrate your wins.

Can I block entire categories of apps?

Yes! Using Apple's Screen Time framework, you can block individual apps or entire categories like Social Media, Games, or Entertainment. Mix and match to create your perfect blocking profile.

Why don't you have an account system?

Accounts create friction for users and temptation for companies to collect data. By not having accounts, we ensure your data stays yours and you can start using NoPhones instantly.

Is NoPhones a subscription?

No. NoPhones is free to download and use. There are no subscriptions or recurring fees.

I found a bug. How do I report it?
